PhD position in welfare economics and behavioural economics

With the support of the BELSPO grant "Measuring Equivalent Income" we formed this team to allow us to collaborate on this fascinating topic and to gather a unique household survey on Belgian households. Recently, we obtained the EOS grant "Individual Welfare Analysis based on Behavioural Economics" to continue our joint work. Please see our website ?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsites.google.com%2Fview%2Fiwabe%2Fhomepage&module=jobs&id=1569" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://sites.google.com/view/iwabe/homepage for more details about our team and our research objectives.

We are a research team of about 20 people (both senior and junior researchers) hosted at four different Belgian universities: University of Antwerp (Centre for Socio-Economic Policy), KU Leuven (Department of economics), UC Louvain (CORE) and Université libre de Bruxelles (ECARES). Each of us is working on different aspects related to measuring individual well-being.

We are hiring a PhD candidate to work on this research project at the Department of Economics of the KU Leuven. The candidate should have a strong quantitative background. Experience related to the project’s objectives is a valuable asset. The candidate should have a good command of English, both written and spoken. The PhD candidate should hold a research master degree in economics. The selected candidate may have to fulfil a doctoral training in the first year to satisfy the requirements of the doctoral school. Usually a PhD takes four years. In principle, the position does not come with any teaching duties, but limited undergraduate thesis supervision as well as teaching up to four Stata tutorials per year is expected.
