The methodology for this ranking combines analysis from QS Global Employer and Academic Surveys with bibliometric data from Elsevier’s Scopus database. Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. Its comprehensive database contains more than 22 million items and 200 million quotations with a broad interdisciplinary coverage.
Obviously rankings measure only limited dimensions of a university and there are some discussions about the methodology of certain rankings. The QS ranking in particular gets criticized because of its use of reputationsurveys for which the methodology is unclear and surveyresults are non-transparant.
