The successful candidate will work in the ’DustOrigin’ group of Prof. Ilse De Looze. The successful candidate will work on modelling the lifecycle of metals and dust from the local to high-redshift Universe using chemical evolution models to infer constraints on metal yields of stars and supernovae, dust depletion levels and the efficiency of various dust formation and destruction processes in the interstellar medium.Job profileComputing skills and prior experience in chemical evolution modelling, interstellar medium studies and galaxy evolution will be considered an asset.How to applyInformal inquires are welcome ( ilse.delooze ugent.be ) and applications sent by Monday April 19, 2021 will be fully considered. Candidates must possess a PhD in Physics, Astrophysics, or a similar field. Applicants should submit their CV, letter of motivation and a statement of research interests (up to 3 pages). The candidates should also arrange for three reference letters to be sent by April 19, 2021 to ilse.delooze ugent.be . The starting date can be as early as September 2021 and should be no later than September 2022. Support for travel, funded by an ERC Starting Grant, will be available. The position is initially for 2 years, and renewable for another 2 years. | |
