Description
Conduct research on effective concepts for digital teaching and learning and on their implementation across various disciplines.
Supervise doctoral students in the field of digital teaching and learning.
Actively participate in relevant national and international workshops and conferences.
Regularly publish in high-ranking scientific journals in the area of digital teaching and learning.
Acquire third-party funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and other Swiss or international research funding organisations.
Establish an interdisciplinary competence centre for digital teaching and learning and network with other national and international competence centres in this field.
Teach in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes at UniDistance Suisse, as well as in continuing education programmes, including the supervision of seminar papers and bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral theses.
Promote young academics in your own field and at UniDistance Suisse in general.
Support the further development of study programmes and lecture courses offered by UniDistance Suisse.
Transfer knowledge to a broader public through lectures and workshops.
Participate in the academic self-administration of faculties and in committees of UniDistance Suisse.
Contribute to the further development of UniDistance Suisse.
Requirements
Proven research achievements in the field of innovative digital teaching and learning environments and/or media and tools (e.g., AI, learning analytics, AR-VR) as well as in the (quantitative) analysis of their potential for effective and productive teaching and learning (e.g., related to memory, productivity, or cooperation).
Proven experience in developing and/or implementing effective tools for digital teaching and learning.
Proven interest in and experience with didactic principles of specific university teaching areas such as mathematics, psychology, or economics.
Outstanding national and international visibility and anchoring in academia.
Sound university teaching experience at all levels of academic teaching (including doctoral supervision), especially in the field of digital teaching.
Willingness and ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams, within UniDistance Suisse, as well as at national and international levels.
Experience in research management and proven success or experience in acquiring third-party funding are desirable for an application at assistant professorship level and required for an application at associate or full professorship level.
Management experience in research and teaching (especially in the supervision of doctoral students) is desirable, depending on the level of application.
Willingness and ability to contribute to the further development of UniDistance Suisse within the framework of academic self-administration and in relevant committees.
First language is German or French with good (at least passive) knowledge of the other language, as well as very good command of English (written and spoken).

The position will be filled at the level of assistant professor with tenure track, associate professor, or full professor, depending on the qualifications of the future holder of the position. When applying, it is mandatory to indicate the level for which the application is being made; otherwise, the application cannot be considered.
Working spaces in Brig for the professor and his/her team. Attendance in Brig of at least 50% is expected during the semester (2 x 14 weeks per year).
