A musical winter!
Treat yourself to one of the concerts performed by Ghent University student ensembles in December - or go to all three!. The Ghent University Choir will perform The Sunrise Mass , cinematic music for the choir and string orchestra written by the young Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo, as well as works from Eric Whitacre and Ruben De Gheselle. On 6 and 7 December 2017 at 8 pm, St. Paulus Church in Ghent. Info and tickets: www.gentsuniversitairkoor.be The Ghent University Harmony Orchestra will surprise you with film music from Oscar Navarro, Joe Hisaishi and Jerry Goldsmith. The main focus will be on the short film The Pawnshop by Charlie Chaplin, for which Antón Alcalde made a fantastic soundtrack. On 7 December 2017 at 8 pm in the Eskimo factory, Ghent - Tickets: wicket.be/guho The Ghent University Symphonic Orchestra (GUSO) will warm your heart with enchanting northern music by Edvard Grieg and Jean Sibelius. In their performance of Sibelius' Violin concerto in D minor the GUSO will work together with the soloist Marc Bouchkov, a finalist in the Queen Elisabeth competition 2012.
