GirlsinSciTech - Monika’s inspiring journey with Mathematics

To celebrate the International Day of Mathematics on 14 March, the third video of our GirlsinSciTech campaign is now live with Monika ZlopaĻa and her journey in mathematics. From her earliest days in primary school, Monika was drawn to the challenge of problem-solving. Over time, she came to appreciate how deeply mathematics is embedded in our world. From the simplest to the most complex scenarios, mathematical principles shape the way we understand and navigate life.

Monika’s passion for numbers and logic led her to study mathematics at the University of Luxembourg, where she obtained her degree in 2019. Today, her expertise has brought her to a pivotal role at UBS, where she plays a key part in ensuring investment funds remain within risk limits. Every decision and calculation she makes is rooted in mathematics, underscoring the real-world significance of her studies and skills.

Monika’s story serves as a powerful reminder that gender-related stereotypes should never limit our potential.

As part of theGirlsinSciTech campaign, each month, a new testimonial video of our panelists will be released. Follow the initiative to learn more about their inspiring stories, and together, let’s motivate more girls to get into STEM!

Next video will be released on 24 April 2025 with Saharnaz Dilmaghani, Manager at Advisory - Data and AI Team at PwC Luxembourg.
