Rector and vice rector join official state visit to Canada

Rector Rik Van de Walle and vice rector Mieke Van Herreweghe are joining the Belgian Royal House on their official state visit to Canada from March 11th to March the 17th. At the invitation of Canada's Governor General, Julie Payette, King Filip and Queen Mathilde will undertake a state visit to Canada. A Ghent University delegation led by rector Rik Van de Walle and vice rector Mieke Van Herreweghe will be accompanying the Belgian Royal House from the 11th of March to the 17th of March. On Tuesday March 13th, His Majesty the King gives the opening speech at the symposium  Assessing Immersion and Content and Language Integrated Learning: Linguistic, cognitive and educational perspectives . Prof. Wouter Duyck will adress the topic of cognitive effects of multilingualism in general, and more  specifically immersion education. During the visit, the Ghent University delegation will be holding three seminars. Could cereals feed the world?.
