Technician for ERC Funded project

Laboratory of Signal Transduction and Metabolism

Contexte :

The Signal Transduction and Metabolism Laboratory led by Dr Esteban Gurzov is seeking highly motivated technician to assist researchers to explore the pathophysiological mechanisms contributing to the development of diabetes. The successful applicant will join the ULB Center for Diabetes Research, characterised by an impressive track record in research excellence.

Project description:

The project will take advantage of human iPSC, CRISPR/Cas9, diabetes cell models, cell lines and human specimens to determine the molecular mechanisms which drive the development of metabolic disorders and explore novel approaches for combating obesity and diabetes.

Profil :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in cell culture and biochemical techniques is essential
  • Experience with iPSC culture is essential
  • Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing will be advantageous

General skills:

  • The candidate should have demonstrable track record of research excellence and be capable of both work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent skills in spoken and written English

Qualities:

  • High motivation, flexibility as well as innovate and creative thinking are a must
