Job descriptionApplications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the field of (extra-)galactic astronomy at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of Ghent University. The successful candidate will work in the ’DustOrigin’ group of Prof. Ilse De Looze. The successful candidate will work on modelling the lifecycle of metals and dust from the local to high-redshift Universe using chemical evolution models to infer constraints on metal yields of stars and supernovae, dust depletion levels and the efficiency of various dust formation and destruction processes in the interstellar medium.
Job profileComputing skills and prior experience in chemical evolution modelling, interstellar medium studies and galaxy evolution will be considered an asset.
How to applyInformal inquires are welcome ( ilse.delooze ugent.be ) and applications sent by Monday April 19, 2021 will be fully considered. Candidates must possess a PhD in Physics, Astrophysics, or a similar field. Applicants should submit their CV, letter of motivation and a statement of research interests (up to 3 pages).
