23 Ghent University researchers are in a citation ranking

This year, Ghent University has 23 researchers with Highly Cited status. Two more than last year, and no less than half of all frequently quoted scientists associated with Flemish universities. The list is classified by discipline, but there is also a cross-field category. The following Ghent University researchers are Highly Cited Researchers in this category this year: Nico Boon (faculty of Bioscience Engineering), Tom Coenye (faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences), Freddy Haesebrouck (faculty of Veterinary Medicine), Peter Vandenabeele (faculty of Sciences) and Maarten Vansteenkiste ( Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences). Plant & Animal Science. Ghent University's pioneering role in the field of Plant & Animal Science is also apparent from the list of most cited scientists. Tom Beeckman, Wout Boerjan, Dirk Inzé, Alain Goossens, Kris Moreel, Guy Smagghe, Frank Van Breusegem, Yves Van de Peer and Klaas Vandepoele renewed their earlier recognition as Highly Cited Researcher.
