About the speaker

A mathematician, actuary and historian, Sébastien de Valeriola is a lecturer at the ULB - Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences - where he holds the Chair of Digital Humanities. His research focuses on the application of quantitative methods to the human sciences in general, and the epistemological issues this process raises. He is currently involved in projects in the fields of history, archaeology, linguistics, journalism, art history...
